Properties of all modules

The foundation of an LCN installation are the bus modules. They execute communication with the bus, collect values from sensors and control actors. All modules have an integrated power supply, so no external or spcialized power source is necessary. All can be switched from 50 Hz to 60 Hz.

  • Outputs

Four logical outputs, two power outputs for 230 VAC, which deliver 300 to 2000 VA, depending on module type, usable as zero-output switches or phase-cut dimmer. Two outputs are available for internal control. With the LCN-HU a third output can be used for 0-10 V, DSI or DALI.Outputs can be controlled separately or together. Per module 100 lighting scenes will be stored, for a single or all outputs, each with its own dimming curve per scene. In the operating mode motor/shutters the two outputs are interlocked. LCN-UPS, LCN-UMR24 and LCN-SHS have no physical outputs, but they can be used for control purposes.

  • T-Port

To the T-Port various switches and push buttons can be connected. Up to eight conventional push buttons per LCN-T8, KNX buttons per LCN-TEU or LCN-TE2, or up to touch terminals of the LCN-GT family.

  • I-Port

The I-Port is meant for connecting the remote control receiver LCN-RR and for sensors. Examples are the wind sensor LCN-IW, the tempereture sensor LCN-TS, the motion detector LCN-BMI or the small binary input LCN-B3I. Also a mix of peripherals is possible. The input is also usable as puls counter and input, in this case no mix of perpherals is allowed. In any case the I-Port can be extended up to 50 meters using two LCN-IVs.

  • P-Port

To the P-Port of the LCN modules the relais modules LCN-R8H/-R2H can be connected. The modules LCN-UPP, LCN-UPS and LCN-UP24 do not have a P-Port. The eight virtual relais can be used for logic calculations.

  • Remote control

A maximum of 16 keys can be be linked, where every key can provide a SHORT, LONG or RELEASE command, from every LCN-RT/LCN-RT16 remote control.

  • Access control

Every bus module can store 16 access codes. Every access code can trigger individual actions, for example turn on the light in a certail area. As an access code the unique serial number of a remote control LCN-RT, of a transponder card LCN-ZTK or of a fingerprint scanner LCN-GFPS is saved. For a larger number of access codes the visualization software LCN-GVS is used.

  • Measured values

Sensor values are processed via noise and hum filters for a total of 4 x 4 threshold values and up to two continous regulators. Source and target sensor and actor can be assigned freely.

  • Tableaus

Twelve LEDs are controllable. For the LCN-TL12H/R, LCN-TLK12H and LCN-GT12 they are available to the external side. In every case they are available as virtual LEDs. For EIB bus buttons the LEDs can be controlled inside the buttons.

  • Logical functions

Up to twelve states can be calculated in four formulars as total value. Every sum calculation returns the state ALL (AND), SOME (OR) or NONE (NOT) as result. This result can trigger furter actions.

  • Groups

For synchronized actions like a central switching off, every bus module can be a member of twelve static and ten dynamic groups, where a module is assigned to a group dynamically.
