LCN-SK
The LCN-SK segment coupler is a coupling module of the LCN bus system for connecting 2 to 120 LCN segments. It is an intelligent LCN bus module and has a processor with intermediate buffer that ensures loss-free data transfer.
Each individual LCN bus consists of max. 250 LCN modules. These LCN modules represent an LCN segment. Up to 120 of these LCN segments can be coupled, so that over 30,000 LCN modules can be used per object. Each module can communicate directly with each other via the segment bus. The individual LCN-SK segment couplers communicate with each other via a symmetrically twisted pair of wires such as CAT5 or similar, which is galvanically isolated from the rest of the circuit. The connection between the individual segment couplers is established automatically.
The LCN segment bus must be set up as a line! Start and end of the LCN segment bus must be terminated, the terminating resistors must be activated by jumper. The installation and connection of the LCN segment couplers must be carried out in accordance with the guidelines for CAT5 cables. It is to be stripped to a maximum of 2 cm and the twisting of the cores is to be broken up only as far as is necessary. The range depends on the transmission rate and number of segment couplers. It makes sense to connect the LCN-SK module to the safety power supply. The free wires of the segment bus line must not be used for external potentials.
The internal operating program can be freely parameterized by means of the LCN system software LCN-PRO.
